NOVEMBER BALLOT PROPOSITION RECOMMENDATIONS
All nine measures were placed on the ballot by initiative petition by registered voters.
Prop. 19 – Marijuana legalization: No Recommendation
Prop. 20 – Congressional redistricting: No Recommendation
Prop. 21 – State parks funding/access: YES
Prop. 22 – Local government finance: No Recommendation
Prop. 23 – Climate change law suspension: NO
Prop. 24 – Corporate tax liability: YES
Prop. 25 – Majority state budget vote: YES
Prop. 26 – Two-thirds fee vote: NO
Prop. 27 – Redistricting commission repeal: No Recommendation
These recommendations are based on the analyses, understandings, and commitments of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America found in its social statements: Sufficient, Sustainable Livelihood for All; Caring for Health – Our Shared Endeavor; and Caring for Creation – Vision, Hope, and Justice. It is the primary mission of LOPP-CA to apply these social statements to policy choices in California, especially on issues of hunger, poverty, and care for creation.
